I will ask him for his advice. The problem is that it is not a bug issue it is a mechanical failure of the drive. The little arm that reads the data is broken. I have one more test I can do on my own, but it seems the only way I will be able to retrieve the data is by taking it to a specialist or someone who knows how to open and repair the drive or switch the memory discs to another housing.
I GOT IT TO BOOT!!!! I have no idea how or why, but I tested the thing in three different computers only to have it fail, for one last time I put it back in the original computer and it loaded. I am currently backing up all the files I need to recreate the work I have done and I will go out and buy a new hard drive this weekend.
Fili your a genious, all i had to do was beg to the gods of fortune and drown another witch doctor!
Wouldn't you know, the moment the last file successfully transfered over the drive failed. But we still got a mod. Now the problem is, I realized I not only need a new hard drive, but a new computer since I don't own the discs with the operating system or anything. But I can still work on the map on my mac.

I know the forums havew seemed dead lately but I wanted to let you all know that the mod is not dead. For me, I am simply recooping and re-organizing what I have saved and trying to figure out a game plan on when i can get a new computer. Till then I've been doing some work on my Mac but can't test so I hesitate to do too much.

me, im putting things together in my new home, in China. Its not an easy thing, so please be patient. I asked Ossiethegreat to do the buildings for us, and i promised to finish the narnia units, and ill be working on them this week. It will be a sad thing to see this thing die, i mean only the time and effort some of us have put in this thing, man that would be terrible. After all a mod is a terrible thing to waste.

It will not die... Most mods do pass trough crisis...
This is just a temporary crisis. I`m sure of that.

its 110 square meters (176 as the chinese people count it, but they count in this area also some public spaces like elevators, building hallways and such). It has two bedrooms, one little study, one storage room, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a sitting room. Its 650 euro multiply by 1,4 and you get the dollar price. Its unfurnished, so i should buy my own furniture, but its close to the office and its really bright. For my mod friends is always open Rah, especially for you buddy

Wow, you get a lot for yuor money over there. Sounds like a sweet pad there Mel.
OK, back to the map. I am going to try to get a series of picks up this week showing where all the provinces are located and their cities so that I can get some feed back and who ever needs to know about such things can get their answers.

I just posted the campaign map folder and the text doc, inca_regions_and_settlement_names.txt. Can someone see if these load properly in a provincial campaign.
I made some changes right as my computer failed and was unable to test them. So run the program from a short cut ending with show_err

OK, I've been doing more research and editing some of the map files. But I hesitate to do too much since I can't test anything.
I leave this weekend for a vacation to the East Coast of the US for a week which is why I didn't have the money to quickly buy a new computer. Once I return, I will purchase a new comp and get back on the modding band wagon.

OK Ladies and Gentlemen, I just got back from buying my new computer. The only thing is, I had to leave it at the store while they installed all the upgrades I desire. I should get it back tomorrow evening and then hopefully be back to modding by Tues or Wed. Unfortunately I am entering my psycho busy time at work (was there till after 1am on Friday night) so I want to get the map complete and moce onto other things that may not be as labor intensive, such as helping code things into the game.
I will hopefully begin updating this thread again.

Good to hear your returning. But as for coding being less labor intensive, looking at a black and white screen of little lines is a bit more straining than a colorful map ;D Albeit a very detailed colorful map.
