Lets get a sound off on where we stand with everything since we seem to have taken nearly a month off.
I'm going to start working on settlement plans and building stuff this week as well as seem if there is a problem with the mod folder.
Where do we stand with the Edit_descr_units and edit_descr_buildings? I aradan doing both of these are can I build the EDU as I create the settlement plans. The was sort of the work flow i was hoping to use, but if all the buildings are coded already I'll use that.
Where do we stand with traits?
Where do we stand with 2D art? Are you able to focus a bit more on this perszuesz?

Of course. But I have something I can help you with more quickly. There are some excellent images I'll send you or post here for mayan settlement plans and city layout in general as I said before. I will try to post them tomorrow. As I''ve been making some units for another mod I've had to leave the 2d art for a moment. But the wait won't be long after getting a chance to grasp, so don't worry

i have 2 buildings to map for the Maya, and 1 to model and they are finished. But we should talk about walls, because i will have to edit them as well. Although i think i read somewhere that i need to edit the original walls for them to be working properly, is that right, or can i build my own walls? Anyway, apart from that, half the mixtec-zapotec buildings are also done, but some need to be modelled, that will be done after the 125th of August when the Olympics will ease off

I'll start loading the traits one by one in the game today. I haven't done much lately, mostly because last week was full of beautiful weather and I didn't feel like staring at a screen for hours.

Thanks for the in put guys. Looks like we're all in the same place concerning our work and life at the moment.
Definitely PM or email (to the mod email) those plans. Because I've just been researching cities and designing them based on how I know the game works but if your plans are more detailed than what I've found (archeological stuff is sort of confusing at times since they are focusing and specific areas and not the entire thing as whole) then it wil definitely make my life easier.
I still need to test my mod folder. Once I do so and it loads without errors, I'll start working more closely with you jacob to put your working traits into the mod.

Ok, so I've gotten the mod bug back and I finally had free time enough to get back into working on our mod. My first task was to get the mod folder working perfectly within the vanilla folder. Which of course, it does not. I think I messed around with the geography too much in the other folder that I butchered. But I have no idea why it wont load. I can play an entire campaign in the game folder I was working in, but as soon as I put it into the vanilla RTW folder and launch the mod folder, it doesn't get past the loading screen.
This might take me a while to figure out. Till then, I am testing the mod folder that works to make sure everything i did do looks and plays OK. Worse case I have to spend an evening completely rebuilding the mod folder till it fails. I don't look forward to that, but if that's what it takes to get it working, then that's what I'll have to do. Until then, lets just say, Mod On!!!!
We still need those traits and 2D work for those who are working on em.

I await your buildings files Mel. Until then I did some more testing with editing Under and Overlays. Its tough to see, but I made an overly large base with stairs in it. We can use this method for either making pyramids something people can walk on or as the bases for the temple complexes.

Well boys and girls (are there any, that would be pretty sweet.) I downloaded all the buildings Mel has provided for us, namely all save three Maya and Mixtec buildings and have begun bit by bit loading them into the game. I only have about 40 minutes in the mornings these days (if I'm lucky) but at the rate I'm going they should all be in and ready for settlement editing by this weekend.
I hesitate to put Jacob's traits into the mod at the moment since I believe there are traits affected by buildings. Once I get all the buildings working I will definitely install the traits.
I also have Aradans Unit balanced file that needs to be placed into its proper place. I'll do that this weekend.
Now, if we could just get someone to take the initiative on the 2D art.......

And i am happy to announce that the mixtec are finished, and there remains only one Maya building to be modelled and mapped but ill do that this weekend because i feel burnt up. Though there have been some changes, the last for the mixtec and maya buildings These are:
The Mixtec Oracle became the Maya Royal Palace
Mixtec Commoners school became Mixtec temple
Mixtec Temple became Mixtec Pyramid Temple
Mixtec Pyramid Temple beacame Mixtec large pyramid temple
mixtec large pyramid temple became Mixtec temple of heaven
Mixtec Temple of heaven became Mixtec Royal palace
Mixtec Nobles academy became Mixtec commoners school
There is a new building fro the Mixtec academy and for the Mixtec Oracle, i will post the complete guide tomorrow. All these changes happened not because i want to break your @@ Rah but because i modelled some things and they seemed better this way.These are, i repeat, the final changes and i owe you the Maya Temple of the warriors which im gona send Sunday evening (yours i mean) to you. Im gonna model some city platforms some time if you want to to put in the cities, when we talk aain im gona send you a reference to tell me your opinion.Thats it, lets moven on to the aztecs and the tlaxcalans now

Cool, I'll take a look at the city platforms. But your killing me man! So, now are those all new models? Can you put them into a folder called 'Updated Buildings 9/10' or something so know which is which?
