hmmmm. I would prefer some nice andean flute music for the main menu. Games without music are 50% worst In all honesty Fil, I think that you are wrong. The ambients add life to the game and make you mind strain to take it in. It keeps you focused on the game and intent. Have you ever played Thief? I think it did the est job of this. A random collection of sound would be no good, but carefully planned ambients put together well could make a very absorbing atmosphere. Also (as far as I know), it has never been done before and this would be anothe first time for our mod. Vuk

But at last leave music for the main menu, please. I sent a sample of andean music to Byz, and he seemed to like it....

I think we would also need to use the Andean flute music simply because it is expected. (It would be great if we had access to musicians to make original scores for us.)
I believe there is transitional music between screens and music entering battle and music when ever events occur or the opening movie. The first thing people should hear is the stereotypic Andean music so they know what they entering.
I was just thinking of this ambient thing for when the player is parked on a menu and making choices or just to come on during the game occasionally for atmosphere. Something to pull the player into the world thats not to noticeable.
I'll probably whip something together just for the hell of it either way.

I like having birds and stuff, but having no music is not good. While playing oblivion, I can't stand where the game makes a pocket where no music is present. Lets have the flutes!

Moche are practically "old Chimu".... They could be usefull, but it would not be historically accurate.

Bored at work in the middle of the night, so since this is my take or leave it thread, I'm going to throw stuff out and see what sticks. I think the Inca had some sort of detailed accouting system that they used in managing their empire. Like each region had a specific fabric design that they used to represent that region. When they worked out the imports from that region they had these scrolls of symbols representing textiles, corn, jewelry, et etc. Can someone find out if I'm right, and if so, should we use these symbols on the city trade scroll? We need new bost models. South Americans fished and traded via rivers and close coastal travel, but they had reed boats, nothing like what we see on the strategy map. Can we make reed boats? Or can we contact This guy to make them for us? Murfios. I saw your post in the guild regarding Tenochtilan. You have 3DsMax which is what we need to experiment with that. Read the tutorial Turk and Publius talk about, I think I posted it here someplace, and try playing around with what SignifiarOne is doing. Oh how I wish I had 3DsMax. Sigh. One can't have every toy, that's what a modding TEAM is about. Lakes, man, all the lakes in SA are freaking in the clouds. This is possing an interesting challenge. Every lake has to be in a valley surrounded by tall mountains. Lake Titicaca looks really odd. I had one battle and it was at a 30 degree angle. Who ever the defender is in Inca Total War will have a HUGE advantage. That is what is going to make this mod stand out and really challenging. A group of peltists can hold off any amount of soldiers if they have enough upper ground between them. Well, I can't think of what else to write tonight. Till next time. So, I'm adding more since I had no idea where else to post this. Here are some photos of Chan Chan (I think) Man it would be great if we could make that artist rendering pic. Between that and Tenochtitlan city battles in Inca TW would be a great experience. That should be our goal for this mod. Making unique cities. I mean, these SA folk, if its high in the mountains, uneven terrain, and barely accessable, it was a great spot to build a city.

Thats really strange. Why is lake titicaca in a 30 degree angle?
maybe the heights are incorrect... You know, Bolivia (today's titicaca and more) is located in a huge plateau called Altiplano. its avove 3000 meters high, but it is Plain and not inclined and very big.

oh, but at least make it plain and not al mountainy, because it'll be hell to fight in there, and unhistorical.

The mountains around the lake are just steep because I'm going from high altitude down to 000 to make it a water lake. I will make it a huge valley, it just wont be at 3000m. My plan is to make it grade down to towards the lake so the surrounding mountains are not that extreme. A balance must be made between accuracy and what works.

Anyway, on the battlefield the player will not realise that his army is at 3000 meters elevation or at 1 meter. Climate type and the ground type can help us alot. I guess even on the campaign map this thing will not look strange.
P.S: how did they make on RTW map the Van like from Turkey, just off the border with Armenia ? Is that lake on the campaign map at zero altitude also ?

But if you want to ask that other guy, thats fine with me
