WOW .
Great stuff.
About the heights, I guess you could use the TIME map editor. You can make most of the stuff with it, with the exception of rivers.

I use the Time editor for pretty much everything but the heights. Its just awkward to use in my opinion. I found that this Earthsculture thing that Red Spot talks about it really helpful for heights. This will be the aspect of the map that will take the longest to get right.

Caius, I'll send you the map stuff once I figure out how to zip the dang thing. Never really sent out large folders before. :/
If not, I'll send you out the necessary files for the map to load.
{Sent. Let me know if you get the file Caius}

Murfios and Filibustria, you think you can make a sun disc design that has an Inca feel to it? Something simple that we can use on the map for our compass. I'm only finding the Aztec one in my searches.

OK then, thats what I'll use on the map. I have this idea of creating a new ground type that is essentially gold so the icon/compass looks different than all other land.

OK, since there seems to be several new comers who we have not yet been able to update permissions for, I will post my map updates here until that changes. I have not been able to really focus on mapping much this past week since, as I mention everytime I post and I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about it, I have been moving all week. My office is finally set up, everything is in its place (sort of ) and I was finally able to get some work done on Sunday. Unfortunately, my girlfriend (who I now living with) has her mother in town all this week who will be sleeping in my office. So things may be a bit slow going until next weekend. But the good news is, I am now at a point where I each sitting completes a portion of the strat map. I will have to go back and edit things for the battle maps, but that can be done while testing is taking place. OK, onto the work. I made a HUGE discovery quite by accident. I always hated the way the sparse forest ground type looked. The trees where just too spread out for areas such as the Amazon and central america and the dense forest made it so units could not move through it. As seen here. On a lark I made swamp a climate option for the aerial_ground_types.txt and changed the model it used for sparse forest to conifer_dense.CAS. Also changed the under lay to a darker color. And when I loaded it up, I was very happy with the look. Then I sent a unit in, and Huzza!, I had my rain forest. I was so excited I ran to my girlfriend to tell her what I had done, which of course meant nothing to her, but I had to tell someone. Here's the exciting results. As you can see a much darker, denser forest. Now just to change the tree models. Anyway, I completed most of central america here are a few screen shots. Costa Rica area Hondorus / Nichoragua (sp?) area (I screwed up the hills color, that's why you see pink) Mayan area Hope you like.

I like it ;D; Hope the map is finished soon, so that we can test the traits. Are there going to be wonders like in RTW?
