Regarding the Mezo-American civilizations... and theyr place on the map, and the general geography of our map. The map will look rather strange, be sure of that

I'm curious, what state is your map in at the moment?
I just finished making a completely unique map in about three days with navigable rivers and that loads and can played on in about a week working only from 8pm to midnight after work. (the rivers drove me nuts at first) I didn't find the TIme editor till after I was done. The hieghts is a little more tedious but this Earthsculpte program Red Baron (believe thats his name) introduced is very helpful. I want to see this mod work because no one else is focusing on this part of the world.
Mind you, I am a noob to all this, but I would like to offer any help I can in this area.

My roommate never sees me anymore because i come home from working on one computer all day to work on my map all night. I learned many helpful tricks and can give you guys a solid commitment on the map until the end of June (I'm moving, so no computer for about a week) which should be more than enough time to getting a working map.

I believe, to get the map working, all I really need is that colored layout of the factions that I saw floating around the site at one point. This way I can just give you guys the map_regions, map_heights, map_ground_types, and desc_strat files. That will get you started. All you will have to do is copy these into the appropriate folder. At least, thats all I had to do to change the map.
Unless you already started one then lets figure out how we should proceed.
Here's my plan.
First step would be to get the map to load with appropriate town locations, region borders, and a few characters in the Vanilla RTW I have. Once you get that, the rest if just sort of like skinning. Change heights, then ground type colors. If you have a better work flow let me know.

It is great job, but this map will never work in RTW... Too much ocean areas.... and the game engine will give loads of errors.
We need to twist a little bit the mezo-american region, deforme it in an geographically correct matter in order for this map to work.
