No Sadly I can't skin right now because I don't have enough space for 3DS max so I need a new job untill I get more space.

First of all, hopefully the Incas will be finished, at least for my part, on Monday, and i will send instructions together with the texporter files to the skiners to paint them in photoshop. For those who dont know, the texporter files are files that are exported from 3dmax after the uv mapping, and they are in .jpg format which can be imported to photoshop, painted over and then re imported in max, and the model "understands" where everything goes because of the uv mapping. So before you can start skinning i must send you the texporter files, i believe this is the correct procedure, unless you know sth more than i do, if so please correct me if im wrong. Skinning in max though, means to rig the model, to put the mesh design assigned to bones, or in the case of max, to the premade helpers. In the weekend i will rig all the models because once i uv map them its all finished, there can be no turning back, and i must check before i uv map them that the skeletons are working perfectly. (sorry if i tired you with this stuff) Second, i have no references for the chimu except for those i have seen in this forum that are references for wht, six or seven units? I have enough references for the Aztecs to build even 13 units all different from each other in appearance, not like the Incas, which look more or less the same. Different uniform for the jaguars, another for the eagles, for the Otamis, for the novice, the aztec priest and more. So i suggest i start the Aztecs and then we will have two factions to play with. That should be enough to check what weve done so far. In the meantime while the beta testers are testing i will do the diaguita and the mapuche, i will try to find more references. But the fact is that rex is right, we are moving very slowly. I mean we could use another modeller to build new buildings. And tell me sth, all this fighting will be done in the jungle right? As far as i know there was no jungle in the vanilla game, so who is going to model that for us?

And a word of advice. If anyone plans on quiting it will be nice to formally inform the other members. This way we can plan ahead with better accuracy. We should also make a new list with active members....So as to know who is doing what, and to reorganise some tasks, maybe? Rex what do you think?

all this fighting will be done in the jungle right? No. Contrary to the popular belief, Southamerica is not a huge jungle. Yes, there are jungles, in brazil and peru, maybe in colombia, i dont know, but there is a large desert, the atacama desert, in chile, the patagonia, which are huge arid plains in argentina, also there are deserts in Peru, there are pine forests in Chile and Argentina, grassfields in central chile, and plenty of other landscapes.

yes you can but you will find it difficult, because when you have max you can check where everything goes, and see if your skin matches the model.

anyway to get this discussion bac to the original subject, we are short on hands right now in Inca Total war arent we? I hope that finishing the Inca units will get us out of the stalemate. Keep in mind though that skinning is a very serious face, even more crucial than modelling and i advice our skinners (who are they, anyway?) to take as long as they want in order to produce good results. Maybe we should post at the org to ask for new blood. When the Inca units are skinned they will be ready to put in game so we will have photo captures to attract more people. Come on team, we must take this project aggresively, arrrhhhhh
