Exactly what do you plan to do for a navy? Canoes? lol I don't know why I found that amusing.
Did they use anything but canoes?

Probably - there really isn't much you could do for a navy. BUT, if you think of it; they never had naval battles, but did transport men by canoes. You could have non attack transport vessels for moving men between islands...

Of course you'd need a modeller to make the canoes...

We only need the sprite, and some still images. But the Ai could crash.

Is there a way without hard coding to get rid of the attack option permentally?

Navy will be present but extremely expensive and extremely hard to build. One ship will be something extraordinarily rare in the game.It will be something so expensive and hard to get that the Ai will probably never will build it and the player will build it only if it has too much money in the treasury Amazonas will be navigable to a certain extent. Inca will be able to navigate in the open ocean (as they did, and probably did settle on the Easter Island and certainly visited Galapagos). No trade on the sea. No trade on the Amazonas.

The incans never, i repeat, NEVER settled in easter island. That's a theroy that has been rejected. The first king of the island was hotu matua, who was a polynesian. They did TRADE with the incas and mapuches

But even so, contacts did exist. First European explorers reported that on the Easter Island lived 2 kind of peoples : one looking more like amerindians, other looking like polinesians (the dominant one). That implies that certain contacts indeed did existed. Of course, we will not have the Easter Island in our map and in our mod

I think there should be trade on the amazons, it would be stupid to assume that people wouldn't navigate the river to visit other tribes or to trade.

naval development was not one of the brightest achieves of prehispanic andean civs. in fact, they didnt developed large battle or trade ships. nevertheless, Sea trade indeed was an important source of income for many villages and states, and there where at least three well known sea trade routs in the pacific:
the spondylus rout: from guayaquil to chincha.
the Moche trade route: applies for the trade routs of the chimu people between them and Lima (ichma)
the lupaka trade rout. the lupaka kingdom reached the sea by its colonies on the coast. they traded with chincha.
they where others, especially to the south (i dont kow very well those) but i think sea trade routs should be put in the game.
Now there is a problem: sea trade routs with no ships to block docks? i think theidea to put ships can reamain but only small war ships, ill open a post to discuss this.
about the trade routs on the Amazonas: as i am concerned, the Amazonas was not a trade route. the main trade done between andean nations and amazonian tribes was done by road and feet, the great river was indeed navigable, but no to do mayor trade activities. (of course, between selvatic tribes themselves, is obvious the river served to connect peoples and goods, and also trade.) In fact, there was some kind of a fear from the andean ones to the jungle. the tribes where not very good graced with the latter.
put your opinions! bye!

Antarki, could we use the "small fishing town" sprite as a dock to all factions? Remember that blokades can occure by putting a army untop of the dock.
