Hey guys, I don't know if anyone remembers me or not but I used to be a member of the ITW team a few years ago...anyways I have always wanted to be a part of the TW modding community and I have a lot of interest in native american civilizations. I know I didn't contribute much when I was in the team originally, but now I am in college which means I have access to a lot of good research material. I'm also good at writing so I can write descriptions, I can buy photoshop and a modeling program and do some skinning/modeling, and I could do coding...so please if you guys want me in the team just let me know. This mod has a LOT of potential, it's good to see that it's still alive however it seems that things have been moving at a really slow pace...I would love to help get things moving again.

Your name is familiar. And yes, we are moving along at a slow pace, mostly because there aren't too many of us and we have chosen to do this whole settlement plan thing (which quite honestly we needed to do if we were going to make the mod authentic)
Although things look slow, we have all the units done, a working mod folder, some new vegetations, and probably over 100 original buildings. If you can get your hand on Max and help us do some settlement planning that is what we really need help with right now. Doing the settlements takes no real modeling skills, just a lot of patience moving models around inside Max. You'll need Max, Vercingetorix's CAS Import/export script, and possibly the settlement export script (Although you can just make the plan and send me the Max file.)
Let me know if your up for it?

Sounds good, but I just looked up max and the cost for the latest version is around $3,000. wwwwwwwwwaaaayyyy out of my price range lol. Is it possible to get a used copy of an earlier version? And whats the oldest version I can use for RTW (or M2TW)?
EDIT: or I just found a free modeling program called Gmax that is based off of 3ds max...would that work?

Yeah, Max is pricey, but there are ways, although I can't be complicit in suggesting them As for as other things to do, hmm.... we still need to some potential scripts, skins, settlement layouts (looking settlements and getting info.) or are you interested in learning some climate or vegetation coding. I could pass that on as well so Mel and I can focus on stuff in Max.

Was modelling hundreds of units not enough? Darnnit Mel, you are a machine! Great work guys! This has the potential of being one of the best RTW mods ever. I saw the Tenochtitlan layout on the Center, that is fantastic! Great work as always!

I guess I could do climate and vegetation coding, and I'll download Gmax and see if that program will let me do settlement planning. Also our forum over at the org is kinda dead, do we need someone to be a sort of spokesman over there? If so I can do it, I check the org almost every day, I could post some previews and stuff to help generate more interest in the mod.

Look for Blender. I don't know how to use it, but it's free, apparently has a lot of potential and no lack of features compared to 3dsMax. Gmax has very few options, on the other hand, and you can only import/export files from games that specifically employ it IIRC.

Didn't mean for you to do all those jobs, just making a suggestion of what jobs could be done.
And yeah, we've been really ignoring the .org. So, if you want to be our liason there, that would be great.
You know Lignator, one thing I do recall that has been sort of set aside is the building info files which are done graphically in photoshop. I made a template for them a while back and i can send it to you as well as the master files and have you put it all together and export them. Then I'll show you how to put them into the game.
And Mel, I'll get you an underlay this weekend and explain what you need to do.

Mel is happy. Mel would be happier if Vuk got his ass down and did the units, then we could finish the mod before summer and i can do the units to move it to M2TW. Vuk i know you are bored, you dont have the time and probably will dissapear after a month or two but you are my man. I cant work the units without you, so make up your mind get excited again and tell me where to send the unit files man... Rah i had this idea of doing a 3 building skin for houses. The idea is to make a skin that will have 3 different house types mapped and each house will load its part ignoring the others, thus allowing us to have different skins for the same house to achieve variety. So tell me Rah how bad would it be to have 3 houses sharing the same skin, would it affect loading times?

Mel man, I have no idea what your talking about. I would have to see it.
So, yeah, Vuk man, skins eh.... eh?
And perhaps we can get Lignator and Purz on the art stuff? Simply 2D art editing.
Move this puppy along and maybe get us a full skinned version by the summer. Cause this has to be the last year guys!
M2TW? AAAAAA!!!!! Am I going to have to learn how to mod a whole new platform. I think Jagurspaw has offered to help transport the game over to M2TW.

Rah i checked the buildings. It seems that the Aztec are somewhat bigger than the others. I will resize accordingly and send them to you.

Just send me what I need and I'll get on it. If I'm going to represent the mod at the .org do you guys think I'll need moderater privelages for our forum? If I do how do I get them just ask Tosa Inu? Also we should probably get some sort of preview ready so people don't think we're lying when we say the mod's not dead lol EDIT: Is there somewhere I can download the latest version for the mod?
