OK, please don't spam this up. I will create a second thread for comments on this thread. Please only allow Rah'Majashan to post and update this thread.
Here's the deal. We can not complete 100% of the game by the end of the year. But I believe it is in our best interest to at least provide something for people to play before the holidays. This way we can have a big holiday release. Here is my plan. Please respond 'here' with any comments, or objections, or sarcastic remarks.
- Mel has completed all the models, but they need to be coded into the game. We need a volunteer for this. I ask that whoever does this will focus on it and do each unit at a time, test to make sure it loads, then continue on.
- I suggest we code in the naked skins as place holders. This way we can play the game and test the battlefields and such. Also, it will make it easy to simply swap out the skins as they are complete.
- We need to find skinners. These will focus first on the units to be included in a demo-campaign (to be determined)
- The map is complete enough to play on. Once Rah gets a computer back, he will parse out the files, test the map, and load it onto the Mod email for use in a demo-campaign.
- Ossy needs to complete the building tree for at least one culture group (to be determined). We can then use these in a demo-camaign and test them. Once the buildings complete we will need someone to try loading them into the game.
- Mage (If your still with us) we need a UI for at least one culture group (to be determined)
- SSJ continue with your traits. Jacob will help you with this. Please let us know any questions you have.
- We need a confirmation that all the character names have been loaded into the proper text file for whatever culture we choose.
- We need someone who knows how to use the unit balancing calculator who is willing to balance our units.
- Rah must complete working battle map tests within the regions we wish to include in the demo-game.
- We need a volunteer to simply find any music for the moment to use in the demo-campaign. Anything that sounds like it would fit in with the theme of the game.
- We need Unit Cards and Building Cards. Lets discuss here.
We need to determine how many rounds we would like to play, what the goals are.
I suggest we use a mini-map of the local area we wish to have our demo-campaign.

As for the actual demo, my suggestion is, lets start with the Aztec. Mel suggested we create a demo called 'The Flowers Wars', which will encompass the Mezo-American cultures. Everyone loves this culture, Mel loves the models, and Ossy has already completed two or three buildings for them. I believe we can learn a lot from attempting to make this small version of our mod. |
