I ran into a hitch coding in the buildings, I'm sure I'll figure it out or ask someone on the forums. Edited the Walls and core buildings, but once i changed the barracks I couldn't even get the game to load past the splash screen and it would crash without an error. I am going to start over and see where I break it.

Its not so much architecture as it is defenses. More importantly Aztec type defenses. But any pictures of city defenses would be welcome.

I spoke to Thor the Bassist on the TWC and he sent me a long detailed email regarding how buildings should go into the game. Then I happened across another TWC memeber, Webbird, who is currently having the same issues as us with getting the game to create items from his building CAS files, and he has found the answer and got them working.
For each building we need 3 files. We need the standard CAS, then a High and a Low for the game to create an Item from. Now, I'm not sure what would happen if we just tripled one file and renamed them. I discovered this during breakfast this morning, so I will test it tonight.
If it works, that means i know how to get buildings into the game. Then the next step would be editing a settlement plan. If I am successful, then it would be redesigning a settlement using SigOnes method. I think this will happen and if we can make all our own settlement plans it will realy take this mod to a new level.

Man what can i say. You are my god. Once you have the answer notify me and i can start modelling the buildings for the Aztec and the Tlaxcalans and skin the buildnigs for the Maya and the Mixtec.

I sort of figured the answer out myself. The answer was there its just that no one really layed it all out very clearly. I was trying to change a pre-existing building and was getting frustrated when it wouldn't work. What I ended up stumbling upon is that the game creates new Item files as it gives errors. So I moved the building text to the top of the items.txt file and it worked. Now I have some other issues to figure out, but my main issue has been solved. Hopefully the rest of the buildings will go easier once I determine how everything works together. Edit: Solved most of the problems, now onto settlement plans. Here is a WIP of what he have: The Temple icon in the UI A medium shot of the Temple in the city And a wider shot of the temple in the city (that blue thing standing out)
