I've been gone for a bit, getting swamped with homework and such. What is this "flower wars" thing that I've seen a couple times? Is there a thread about it?

Flower WarsWe decided that instead of waiting to complete everything we would need for the full mod we should release at least two mini-mods that led up to the major release. The first of these has been agreed to be The Flower Wars. You can see some of the Objectives we have set up here. Welcome back and I hope you approve of this new direction SSJ.

I'll recycle this thread for the use of the scripts we will use to build the campaign. These scripts will be expanded on when we enter the grand campaign phase.
Multi-turn per year script
Haven't decided how many turns per year we may want, I know we can have almost as many as we want these days. We may just want to stick with 4.
Client Kingdoms Script
This one will be pretty easy to edit to our use, it was originally written by Espitolory (sp?) Richard and works by conquered and allied peoples offering units in tribute to your successes. You do have to pay for these and you can not rebuild or recruit them. But it may work well along with the Regional AOR we are designing.
Character Assassination Script
A few turns into the game I would like this to kick off to kill the Aztec faction leader. We will also need a script to change the relationship values of the factions of the Tepenac and Aztec.
Town Revolts Script
For the Maya, they have a large area of control and can expand fairly rapidly, but eventually I'd like to mimic the social collapse of this region by making the cities difficult to govern and suddenly rebel.
The last two scripts are the ones I'm not too certain or familiar with how to accomplish, but I believe they are doable.
If anyone wants to take on this task or has any other ideas, please, let us know.

I've been thinking of a assasination script for the Aztec faction leader too. Is it possible to use traits as a trigger for a script?

I'm not sure, I still need to do a lot more research on scripts. I've downloaded the Client Kingdoms one and am currently reverse engineering it. I'll learn more as I go. My thought for the assassination one was to have it occure on a certain year.

If you want to recreate a historical campaign a script like that would be nice. I was thinking of making a trait which spawns when a faction leader doesn't win a significant victory in a certain timespan, which on it's turn would fire an assassination script. This to recreate the Huey Tlatoani failing his coronation campaign and losing the support of the people.

I guess that a trait appearing after many defeats or little activity in battle could be created, diminishing "personal security", sorta like the "victor" trait. But a way of making possible the actual assasination would be a little more complicated...
