As my answer to rexdacorum's request to work on the diaguita:
I found This:
1. Diaguita were a relatively strong faction. They managed to resist to the incas in argentina and to the spaniards for 150 years!
2. Diaguita were ranged soldiers. Their principal weapons were the bow and the javelin.
3. They were more related to the Tiwanaku Civilization than to the mapuche. They worked copper and bronze.
4. The Diaguita language, the kakan, is DEAD. . So you can translate the unit names into quechua or some other language, because there is no diaguita language.
5. The diaguita lived in stone and wood houses in fortified villages called pukara by the inca.
Diaguita Provinces:
ANTOf*gASTA ,CHALINGASTA , ELQUI, SOTAQUI, ATACAMA , CALAMA, TOCONAO TICNAMAR ,COMBARVALA
Diaguita Names(In kakan, the only thing that still survives of it, along with the provinces names):
ALBALLAY, CAMPILLAY, SAPIAÍN, TALINAY, CHAVILCACHAÑAR, GUALTATA, CHILCA, YALIPALQUI, PALQUI, TAMANGO,TUCMÁN, MICHIMALONGO, TAVALONGO.
Diaguita units:
MISSILE UNITS:
1. Archer: Long ranged archer armed with a small stone club.
2.Slinger: Short ranged armed with a small club for melee, too.
REGULAR UNITS
3. Stone Clubman: Light infantry, Stone Club
4. Bronce Clubman: Heavy Infantry, heavy short ranged missile. Bronze Club and Javelins thrown before charge
5.Bronze Axeman: Heavy Infantry, heavy short ranged missile. Bronze axe and javelins thrown before charge. Better armour penetration.
6. Spearman: Stone Spear, Light Infantry.
SPECIAL UNITS
7.Chosen Archer: Nobleman, Long Ranged armed with longbow and bronze axe. Heavy Infantry, bronze pectoral(is that the correct word?).
8.Chosen Javelinman: Nobleman, Short heavy ranged armed with many javelins thrown before charge. Bronze Pectoral, heavy infantry armed with bronze axe.
9. General: Heavy short ranged armed with Many javelins and a bronze club. Heavy Infantry.
Notice than the unit names are in english because (As i already said) The kakan is dead. Translate them into aymara or quechua.
This concept can change, its open for suggestions and critics.
Hope it helps.
