To tell you the truth the whole fuss is caused by the palaces. At first i thought i was going to do them as a complex of buildings, thats what they were actually. Then i thought i would do them a single building and get over with it.Now although i said this is the final guide, i still havent decided whether the palace should be one building or a complex of buildings. You realize that if i make it a complex of buildings, i have some buildings to spare and there will be more reshuffling. Believe me this decision keeps me up late at night every night

Me reporting again Rama, I'm yet to send you the rest of pictures. Sorry for the delay, I lended the book for a couple of days... And if you or merilitiatl would like pictures of mayan estructures either for texturing (or modelling), pictures are abundant. Also, I have already started to experiment with the interface. I'll post some pictures or similar after making a design cool enough

Great the hear that your working on this stuff! We await to see what you have to offer us.
As for the references, I can use anything that shows a city. I think Mel has a bunch of references as well, so you two might want to communicate on just how much coverage you have between the two of you.

Well boyos this has been a rather productive weekend. I finally figured out how to create the physical features of a model such as collision and creating platforms and such and Mel and I worked together to test these and were greeted with successful results.
Also, all of the completed Maya and Mixtec buildings are now coded into the game and the next step will be to work out the proportions and then load in the physical info files I mentioned. Once these are in and successfully tested we will have achieved a huge milestone in the game!!!
The once that's complete the major game things will be the 2D art and the scripts.

Well, organized the Mixtec according to Mel's updated building guide and this weekend I'll have to do the same for the Maya. But I really want to get these sweet palaces Mel has made for us into the game so we have something nice to show off around the boards.
Once I get them in, I'm going to take a slight break from the buildings to see what's wrong with the unit balancing. I had to change around a bunch of skeletons and now the dang game gives me an errorless CTD. That'll probably take a few hours to fix unless I get lucky.
Once that's all complete, I'll pack up the mod folder and send it out to you guys. I am running it out of a clean RTW vanilla game, so if I'm not getting errors you shouldn't be either. But, I'm not really playing all that much. So you guys will see where any problems lay.
Its a grand hope, but hopefully I'll get this far by Sunday night.

Hi guys. I bring some news. I have had bad luck until now, as I wasn't able to do much this week, A virus almost transforms my computer into a brick, and it took the whole week to fix the problem and save vital data. On the good side, however, Editing the UI is much easier than I ever thought it would be. Battle and Campaign UI are separated in a simple pair of files very easy to edit, and the "Aztec" style UI will be done soon. Command buttons will be added as needed. Wich reminds me of a question: Do you know what will you do with special commands like flaming arrows?

perzseusz you should check the zapotec codices in www.famsi.org and find the appropriate icons for all the commands there, and some good backround graphics. Flamming arrows we can have, if we really want to, i guess the shuould have added fire in some arrows. But if we want we can skip it. Maybe you should write down all the commands in the UI and on the side i can add what this command can be transfromed to in our mod. But please check the codices to find graphics for the buttons ok?

Wich makes me wonder why are 2d artist so rare...

Because everyone wants to skin and make icons and make maps. Also, the 2D art being easy to edit and it being edited artistically and good are two completely different things. Mel and I are both more than capable of doing the work, its just we aren't as design savy as a real artist and graphic designer could be. (sorry for speaking for you mel)
So, we await patiently for what you have to offer us perszeusz.

its ok man, you can speak for me whenever you want, you have earned that right.Ok its 3.30 a.m. here and im glad to say that the Maya are finally over. I have finished the temple of the warriors, although i have miscalculated a bit and the temple has gone a little flat and not as tall as it should be. But its gorgeous and you will see the same chacmools and facades and balustrades and all this staff as in the real temple. I will upload it my tomorrow morning because im exchausted.Tomorrow ill start the tlaxcallans and the Aztecs

Mel has become our little Charlie the Choo Choo.
Good news for me is that I seem to have the entire day of Saturday to myself from morning till late in the eve. So, hopefully this will give me enough undistrubed time to get all the Maya buildings in, clean up some of the coding I want to do for the Mix and finally finish a settlement set of levels. I plan on making a Huge City level, then just start removing and replacing buildings.
A bit over ambitious, but I owe it to you guys for all the hard work you've been doing?
How are the ancillaries coming along Jacob and is there any thing I can do for you?
