Everyone is telling where do their families come from. My family comes from many many places. The Gonzalez came from Castille, Spain, in the early 1700's. Every Gonzalez (of my family line) has named his first son Nicolás. Im nicolás, my father is nicolás, my grandfather was nicolás, and so on since the 18th century. And i will name my 1st soon Nicolás. My Father's mother's family, the Aspillaga came fron Euzkadi or País Vasco, Spain. From that family line, I descend from many great characters from chilean history, like Ignacio de la Carrera Ureta, Mercedes Fontecilla, Diego José Benavente and Rafael Sotomayor. The Peralta family, in my mothers line, comes from Italy. My Grandmother's family comes from France, the Balin family. I know nothing about them. I also have some indigenous blood in my veins. But, we're all related to each other in a way. Mel you could be my far far far far far far far far far cousin or sth like that.... ;D

yes, its funny business sometimes to learn how small our world is. And since we have some Irish people here, i read a Lady Gregorys Irish tales where at the beginning of the first tale she says that the first Irish people came to Ireland from Greece

The Celts were originally from the area near Greece. I forget where I read this, either in the Bible or the Illiad or one of my many history books. They were driven out, hired themselves out as mercenaries, then, migrated to Iberia and then into the British Isl. around the same time as or shortly after the Romans.
So, being of Irish Greek ancestory is sort of like my families coming in full circle.

Looks like I'm the only mutt here lol. I am descended from German, French, French Canadian, English, and possibly Cherokee. Fil, he means a person of mixed blood. You are wrong Lignator. I am Norwegian, Black, Native American (at LEAST two North American tribes ), English, Irish, Scottish, Italian, German, Jewish, and a lot more. I look at it this way, now it is impossible for me too have racial predjudices. Not only that, but (while most people only have one bloodline to be proud of) I can be proud of ALL my heritage. Did you ever wonder where I got my ego? lol Vuk

lol, most people have more than they think. I have learned a lot of my blood line from questioning my relatives, but I also have been looking through records and trying to trace my bloodline back. You never new how expensive it could be to find out who your great, great, great, great, great, grandmother was. Vuk

Alas, I do not believe I will iscover much information by talking to my family. Most of those in the know have passed and many wer orphans during the depression. But I would like to research more of my family history, see exactly how the hell my last name of Johnson crept into a family of mostly Irish and Greeks. I would also love to learn exactly where in those countries my family comes from.
Perhaps one day when I get a chance and find the time to spend more than three days back where I grew up. I mean we all have to come from somewhere right? If we go back far enough we're all related, just a matter of how far back we have to go.

Chiapet in LOWELLLL!
Sorry, couldn't help myself, went to school in Boston and had a friend who made a video for the Lowell chamber of commerce featuring a Chia pet travelling around Lowell. They have great accents there.
